A report released by the Long Beach City Auditor’s office Wednesday detailed the systemic pressures and lack of control that led to city job contracts for the Department of Public Works were being overinflated, inappropriately priced and vulnerable to fraud.

This was why 40% of Long Beach voters voted NO on Measure A, the sales tax hike, despite a $600k campaign for “Yes” and virtually nothing spent to promote “No”…

They simply did not trust the city to spend the money as advertised under current leadership (after all, that $600k campaign didn’t even mention that Measure A was a tax hike..and if they’re not even honest enough to state basic facts….):
